Relationships
The truth is…we, all humanity, emanate from the Relationship at the Center of the Universe—Divine LOVE. Therein our true identity in Them, Lover of our souls.
When we participate in relationships with others by being both vulnerable and available (in a word-“open”) we discover our fullness in LOVE (Agape).*
As I recall those relationships I’ve experienced over my lifetime, some very special ones come to mind (and heart). Childhood ones with both other kids, yet also some very nurturing adults. Then high school where lifelong friendships were created and last to this day. Of course foremost is that Beloved anam cara with whom I’ve spent over half of my life.
Perhaps in no more deepest possible sense do we experience our true humanity than in blessed relationship with one another…family, friends, beloved ones all.
* Agape (pronounced ah-GAH-pay) is the highest form of love in Greek, representing unconditional, selfless, and sacrificial love. Often used in Christian theology to describe God's love for humanity, it is an active, willful choice to prioritize others' well-being over oneself, distinguishing it from emotional, affectionate, or erotic love.
